Student Award Cash Prize

Thanks to the generosity of SICSA, we can now announce a Scottish Student Open Source Award.

The Scottish Open Source Awards 2009 announces The SICSA Scottish Open Source Award for Students. With a cash prize of £500, the Open Source Awards is inviting nominations from students in all universities and colleges in Scotland. To qualify, students should be able to demonstrate one of the following: 

  1. Innovative use of Open Source Software either in an academic or commercial context

  2. Ownership of an Open Source project

  3. Innovative contributions to an existing Open Source project

  4. Exemplary advocacy of Open Source software

Tickets for the Event are free and can be booked at opensourceawards.eventbrite.com.

Judging will take place on Friday, November 6th.  The last date for submissions is Friday 30th October.
